Archetypes and Optimal Psychology

The idea of archetypes, especially in relation to creating a strong character, seems to be coming back to me again and again.

1) Conversation I had with Angus, when we were talking about Marital Arts Philisophy and he described to me his six archetypes that he had created for himself to guide him in his values and actions

2) Dr Deepak Chopra mentioned it in his latest book - I remember brainstorming potential archetypes for myself. I left the note in Brisbane, but I believe they were: the healer, the samurai, the scholar, the nomad, the joker, the prince.

3) I have been reading Thomas Moore's Dark Knights of the Soul and once again, he describes how powerful archetypes and myths can be in our own lives. That if you choose what archetypes you want to embody, you unconsciously find yourself living those myths in particular situations.

If you have no idea what the hell I am talking about, don't worry. I just wanted to braindump somewhere so that I can explore this idea in more detail later.
